Social Bookmarking Sites

I think social bookmarking for google pagerank or for traffic is probably over. I have seen a distinct patter over the last 15 years, and that is by the time someone is selling ebooks and writing articles about the subject it's because it no longer works and they are just looking for suckers, or they are just repeating what someone else said.

Here are the social bookmark sites I was looking at.

ekstreme.com/socializer/ - has javascript you can put on your site to allow others to bookmark your pages.

socialize-it.com - same service as above.

onlywire.com - this is an autosubmitter that you can pay a monthly fee or have ads.

on webmasterworld someone was complaining that half the sites don't work at all on onlywire, and the other half don't get it right. Just ran across someone else complaining that onlywire didn't work very well.

socialposter.com - this is an automatic submitter site, with 250 social networks but it seems to only list 79 of them. it does have a button to only slect the sites that are dofollow links.

submitterbot.com - can submit your website to 797 directories semi-automaticly

socialmarker.com - claims to have 100 social bookmark sites.

---

followlist.com - this is a do-follow blog directory.

one thing about blogs, if they have a very high page rank then just forget about them posting your comment. Also, if they don't have any comments up then that means they will not post yours, so don't waste your time leaving one, they will just delete it.
