My New SEO Project

I signed up at the challenge.co site. It was free so I figured all I would be wasting was my time. The videos are kind of long, but the guy tries hard to make them interesting.

The videos have a little information if your just starting out and don't know anything then this would be a great way to start.

The basic idea is to start a website, then go to all the social media sites and open accounts and put a link to your new website.

I am not sure why it bothers me so much when people hype stuff instead of giving it to you the way it really is. For example, he says that if you sign up to these authority sites with high page rank it will really give you new site a big boost.

The only problem with that is that if you sign up at a site that has pagerank 9 on it's home page, then you create your profile page, or what ever they have.
They don't link their home page to your page, so just having your link there does next to nothing.

It is actually completely worthless unless you get some links with some page rank pointing towards it. If you just create the page then most of the time google won't even index it. So now you have to get links to this new page and build up the page rank so that when it points to your site it will do some good.

Well if you know how to get backlinks with high pagerank sites to your new page, then you would just get them for your original site.

I do have to give the guy credit for not pumping his videos as get rich quick, he said he was going to show you how to set them up and try to earn a dollar. He could have said they will be making $10,000 a day like everyone else but he didn't so I have to give him some credit for that.

anyway, I am trying to get some of these pages at least indexed in google, not that it's really going to make any difference. But I thought since I wasted this much time I might as well go ahead and do the next step to see if there is any chance this does anything or not.
