Nucleus Blog Software Review - Part 1

If you’re thinking about installing any complicated software you should find a host that has Fantastico because it really makes installing software a breeze.

I click on the Fantastico icon from my control panel, then click on Nucleus and I get a short list of questions.

Install Nucleus Page (1/3)

Install in directory - leave blank for root dir.

Administrator-username

Password

Admin full name
Admin e-mail (your email address)
Site name

[click the button and the second page comes up]

Install Nucleus (2/3)

The MySQL database and MySQL user deep8_ncls1 will be created and used for this installation.

- You chose to install in the main directory of the domain deep8.com.
- The access URL will be: http://deep8.com/.

[Click on Finish installation to continue]

Install Nucleus Page (3/3)

/home2/deep8/public_html/config.php configured
/home2/deep8/public_html/data.sql configured

Please notice:

We only offer auto-installation and auto-configuration of Nucleus but do not offer any kind of support.

You need a username and a password to enter the admin area. Your username is mayor. Your password is xxxx

The full URL to the admin area (Bookmark this!): http://deep8.com/nucleus/

The full URL to this installation of Nucleus: http://deep8.com/

DO NOT REMOVE the file named fantastico_files list.txt from the installation directory. It is used for uninstalling this application.

That took about 5 minutes, now my Nucleus blog is working, not bad.

I would rate this installation as extremely easy and anyone could do it.

Not having to mess with the mysql databases was a real plus.
