If You Don't Have A Backup To Your Web Site

Make backups for all your work, and do it often…

That’s my advice for you.

If you do lose some of your work on a website for what ever reason there are two things you can do.
  1. Check Google so see if they have a copy of your site.  Google will come to your site and make a copy every so often.  Hopefully recently enough that it will help you recover your lost work if you don’t have a backup.  Just search your domain name on Google.com and if they have a copy of your site the first entry will look like this - Show Google's cache of www.goodjobguys.com

  2. Check the Way Back Machine this web site goes around and makes copies of all the web sites it finds, if you site has been up long and is very popular then they will probably have some copies of your site.
The best thing is to just make backups so you don’t lose anything, but if you have already lost something then check to see if you can recover anything from these two sites.
